A Journey of Grit, Grace, and Giving Back: Meet Our 2025 College Graduation Guest Speaker

The Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception is deeply honored to welcome back one of its own, Mr. Angel S. Elizalde, Jr., as the Guest Speaker for the 2025 College Graduation Ceremony.

A proud alumnus of FCIC, Mr. Elizalde’s story is one of perseverance, humility, and continued excellence. Twenty-five years after he walked the same stage as a graduating student, he returns as a successful professional and an educator, mentor, and servant leader who has remained grounded in Franciscan values.

Mr. Elizalde holds a degree in Computer Science and further pursued graduate studies, including a Master of Information Technology at De La Salle University. His learning never stopped—he actively enrolls in online courses, attends international conferences, and shares his expertise by teaching, conducting workplace training, and volunteering for underserved communities. He has been a dedicated volunteer teacher at Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation for over two decades.

In his heartfelt message to the graduating class, Mr. Elizalde emphasized the value of being Assertive, Attentive, Adaptable, and Authentic; qualities that have guided his personal and professional journey. Drawing from personal experience, technological evolution, and the words of the late Pope Francis, he inspired graduates to be resilient pilgrims on their journey, to keep learning, and to lead with kindness and purpose.

He also delivered personalized tributes to each academic department, reflecting his genuine connection and encouragement to every graduate. His words remind us all that beyond academic achievements, it is our character, compassion, and commitment to service that define true success.

Mr. Elizalde embodies what it means to be a true Franciscan—faithful, forward-looking, and forever in service of others. We are proud to call him a fellow FCICian and even prouder to have him share his wisdom with this year’s graduating class.
