Evangelization in Action: FCIC Holds First Non-Teaching Personnel In-Service Training of SY 2025–2026

In line with the mission of Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception, Baybay, Leyte, Incorporated to strengthen the witnessing of Gospel values and to form academically innovative and socially responsive global citizens, the school community held its First Non-Teaching Personnel In-Service Training for the school year on August 14, 2025. This initiative, spearheaded by our School President, Sister Mary Michael G. Bactong, OSF, was anchored on Pillar 1: Evangelization and supported the school’s goal to provide Christian formation programs and activities inspired by the Franciscan tradition, integrated across curricular and co-curricular programs.

The training began with a Lectio Divina, led by our esteemed resource person, Rev. Fr. Jose Litigio, OFM. Fr. Litigio began by explaining what Lectio Divina is—a prayerful and meditative way of reading the Scriptures that invites participants to listen deeply to God’s Word and allow it to transform their lives. He then guided everyone through a profound reflection, fostering a deeper spiritual connection and inspiring the integration of faith into daily work and service.

His insights encouraged the non-teaching personnel to view their roles not merely as tasks, but as vital contributions to the mission of the institution. The session was both enriching and uplifting, offering a space for personal contemplation and communal sharing. Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, strengthen their spiritual foundation, and reaffirm their commitment to living out the Gospel values in their work.

This in-service training not only enhanced professional growth but also reinforced the spirit of unity, shared purpose, and commitment to the Franciscan mission. With this strong beginning, the school looks forward to more formative gatherings that nurture both competence and character in the light of the Gospel.
