FCIC College of Teacher Education Strengthens Camaraderie and Trust in First-Ever Team Building Activity

The Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception (FCIC), through its College of Teacher Education (CTE), successfully held its first-ever CTE Team Building Activity on October 18, 2025, at the FCIC Gymnasium. Guided by the theme “Strengthening Our Franciscan Community,” the activity aimed to foster camaraderie, strengthen connections, and build trust among the student-teachers and faculty members of the College of Teacher Education.

Organized by the Franciscan Student Educators Organization (FSEO) with Mr. Dellio V. Belmores, Program Head of the College of Teacher Education and the Moderator of FSEO, the event was filled with excitement, laughter, and meaningful interactions that reflected the spirit of unity and collaboration. The activities were facilitated by Ms. Joana Serut, who led a series of dynamic games and exercises designed to enhance teamwork, collaboration, and personal growth.

The event was graced by the presence of FCIC faculty members Mr. Omar Neri, Dr. Ernesto Alolor, and Mrs. Marilyn Roguel, who actively participated and showed their support for the students throughout the program. Their involvement emphasized the college’s enduring commitment to nurturing both professional competence and personal growth.

Adding inspiration and spiritual depth to the occasion, Sister Mary Michael G. Bactong, OSF, School President, delivered an uplifting message that emphasized the value of unity, humility, and faith in one’s journey as an educator. Her words motivated the student-teachers to see that team building is more than games and laughter; it’s a journey toward discovering the power of unity, empathy, and purpose. She shared three-point reflections to build a stronger bond: learning beyond the classroom, building character and compassion, and turning challenges into opportunities.

The event culminated with a closing message from Dr. Maria Victoria A. Gonzaga, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the FSEO officers, facilitators, faculty, and students for making the activity a success. She encouraged everyone to carry the lessons learned from the event and continue living out the CTE’s cherished mantra, “To Teach is to Touch Lives Forever.”

The first-ever CTE Team Building Activity stands as a milestone for the College of Teacher Education — a celebration of unity, collaboration, and shared purpose. It truly embodied the Franciscan values that guide FCIC in forming competent, compassionate, and Christ-centered educators dedicated to teaching, serving, and touching lives forever.
