Baybay City, October 19, 2024 — The Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception (FCIC) held its Graduate School Convocation on October 19, featuring a symposium focused on Time Management and Mental Health. The event was organized by the newly elected Graduate School Students Organization (GSSO) officers under the guidance of Graduate School Dean Dr. Ma. Victoria A. Gonzaga.
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by graduate students, the symposium aimed to equip attendees with essential skills to navigate the demands of their studies effectively. He shared practical techniques for optimizing schedules and enhancing productivity. Concurrently, Dr. Beth Catherine M. Dongon, DepEd Baybay’s Education Program Supervisor in Mathematics, led a discussion on Mental Health and Stress Management, highlighting the crucial link between mental well-being and academic success.
The event drew active participation from graduate students across various majors, including Educational Management, Educational Technology, Filipino, English, Guidance and Counseling, and Natural Science.
Sister Mary Michael Bactong, OSF, Ph.D. Ed., also attended the symposium, commending the initiative for aligning with FCIC’s vision of promoting the holistic development of its learners. She emphasized the importance of such programs in contributing to the overall growth and well-being of graduate students, guiding them toward both academic and personal fulfillment.
