FCIC Honored as JDVP Partner at Baybay City Senior High School’s “Pagpupugay”

The Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception, Baybay, Leyte, Inc. (FCIC) was invited to attend Pagpupugay: A Tribute to the BCSHS Graduates and Stakeholders, a program held on April 11, 2025, at Baybay City Senior High School (BCSHS). The formal invitation was personally delivered by Ms. Mary Joyce Bation, one of their teachers and a former faculty member of FCIC.

Representing the institution, five Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration were sent by the School President, Sr. Mary Michael G. Bactong, OSF, to attend the event. The Sisters included Sr. Leslie Ann Arnol, OSF; Sr. Lorence Momo, OSF; Sr. Maria Isabel Arnaiz, OSF; Sr. Maureen Ruiz, OSF; and Sr. Mercy Ann Hinay, OSF.

The Sisters were warmly welcomed by the BCSHS community and participated in the meaningful tribute, which included performances, recognitions, and symbolic ceremonies. FCIC was honored with a Plaque of Recognition presented to Sr. Mary Michael G. Bactong, OSF, for the school’s role as a partner institution in the Joint Delivery Voucher Program (JDVP).

As a TESDA-accredited training and assessment center, FCIC offers a variety of short-term NC II courses under the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track. Through this collaboration, BCSHS students have had the opportunity to engage in hands-on training, supporting their practical learning and skill development.

In addition to this, FCIC has also extended its support by hosting spiritual recollections for BCSHS students, providing an opportunity for personal and faith development. These efforts align with the core values and mission of FCIC, which strives to integrate Christian formation programs with academic excellence, ensuring a holistic approach to education that nurtures both the intellectual and spiritual growth of students.

This recognition underscores the shared commitment of FCIC and BCSHS to nurture well-rounded individuals—equipped with both technical skills and Christian values—empowering students to excel in their chosen paths while living out the core principles of compassion and service. Through its partnership with BCSHS, FCIC continues to live out its mission of fostering academic innovation, social responsibility, and spiritual growth in its students.

Under the leadership of Sr. Mary Michael G. Bactong, FCIC continues to uphold its commitment to academic excellence and community partnership. Her guidance has been instrumental in fostering meaningful collaborations, like the one with BCSHS, that support both the intellectual and personal growth of students.

This partnership embodies the values outlined in FCIC’s vision and mission, including the integration of innovative education, faith-based formation, and a spirit of community engagement. As a Christ-centered institution, FCIC remains dedicated to shaping individuals who are not only academically proficient but also socially responsive and committed to the common good.
