FCIC Taekwondo Athletes Capture Multiple Medals at City Athletic Meet

Baybay City’s annual athletic meet took place last week, and the FCIC Taekwondo team coached by Rene Jemmar Alkuino and John Raphael P. Montejo, delivered an impressive performance. Athletes Yebin An and Kenzie Angelo Rojo earned multiple medals in the Poomsae division, securing their selection to represent Baybay City in the upcoming EVRAA 2026. Another, Euan Khristauf Macairan also claimed a silver medal in the Kyorugi category, marking a strong overall showing for the team.

Yebin An captured both a gold and a silver medal in Poomsae, demonstrating precision, discipline, and consistency throughout the competition. Her scores placed her among the top performers, earning her a well-deserved spot in the EVRAA delegation.

Kenzie Angelo Rojo mirrored this success, also bringing home one gold and one silver medal in the same division. His poise, accuracy, and competitive mindset stood out among the male contenders, securing his own selection as an EVRAA 2026 representative.

The team’s success extended to the Kyorugi division, where Euan Khristauf Macairan delivered a strong performance, earning a silver medal in his first official Taekwondo match. His achievement highlighted the team’s growing versatility across Taekwondo disciplines.

The coach shared that the athletes remained focused and driven throughout the training period. Their results reflected not only their skill but also their commitment to representing their city with pride.

These victories strengthen Franciscan College of Immaculate Conception’s presence in regional Taekwondo and set the stage for further development as the athletes prepare for EVRAA 2026. Their achievements also inspire younger students to pursue discipline, sportsmanship, and excellence in athletics. As EVRAA approaches, the team will continue to refine their techniques and routines to compete confidently at the regional level.

The Taekwondo team’s medal haul is a proud moment for FCIC and a testament to the dedication of both the athletes and their coach. With two Poomsae players advancing to EVRAA and another strong finish in Kyorugi, the team is poised for an exciting and promising journey ahead.
