On January 31, 2026, Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception attended the promotional seminar for the new textbook organized with the Phoenix and Sibs with 8 teachers along with the school principal, Mrs. Blanchie G. Torcino. It was held at Maayo Hotel, Cebu. The new textbooks covering subjects such as Science, GMRC, Religion, Filipino, Araling Panlipunan, Math, MAPEH, and English for the Grade School and Junior High School levels. This is in preparation for the Matatag Curriculum. The breakout sessions for each subject took place from 8:00 AM until 11:30 AM with various speakers for each subject.
During the breakout sessions, the teachers were divided to their assigned venues within the hotel on the subject they taught. There are varied activities were used such as quiz bee, reporting, sharing of ideas, and many others. That made the teachers feel involved and at the same time a bit anxious. This initiative aims to provide educators with the updated learning materials for the upcoming school year.
The promotional seminar focusing on the theme “Think, Weave, and Engage: From Thoughtful Design to Wholistic, Engaged Learning.” The seminar also emphasized the campaign for #AlagangPhoenixSibs and #YourCommittedPartner.” The new textbooks are meant for use in the next school year, offering updated content and teaching methods. Involvement of FCIC supports the school’s goal of providing Franciscan quality education with the current resources. The school plans to include the new materials in its curriculum preparations for the upcoming term.
