The Microwide’s Learning and Development Center (MLDC), in partnership with Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception (FCIC), held its 6th Recognition Ceremony for the Basic Computer Literacy Training on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass at 8:00 AM at the FCIC Holy Trinity Chapel, presided over by Fr. Jose Litigio, OFM, bringing together completers, families, faculty, and partners in thanksgiving for the successful completion of the training cycle.

Immediately after the Mass, FCIC and Microwide LD Center formalized their continued collaboration through the renewal of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Computer Literacy Training program. The renewal reaffirms both institutions’ shared commitment to expanding digital skills education and providing accessible, values-driven training for learners in the community. Sister Mary Michael G. Bactong, OSF, School President of FCIC, and Mrs. Arlene Villegas, MLDC Business Development Officer, led the signing.

The event proceeded with the Recognition Ceremony at the FCIC Gymnasium, hosted by Miss Jill Zarah B. Sabando, Dean of the College of Information Technology, together with the FCIC IT Learning Facilitators and the MLDC staff. Certificates were awarded to the completers of the training, acknowledging their perseverance and dedication in developing essential digital competencies, particularly in basic computer operations and productivity tools. In their messages, both FCIC administrators and MLDC representatives expressed their appreciation to the facilitators, support staff, and partner institutions for their efforts in sustaining the program. They also encouraged the graduates to apply their new knowledge and skills in their academic, professional, and community endeavors..

The FCIC–MLDC partnership continues to advance the college’s mission of holistic formation and community engagement by making quality, practical IT education more accessible to learners of all ages. Further training cycles and enrichment activities are planned as both institutions collaborate to meet the evolving needs of digital literacy.
