Wearing neat white uniforms and smiles filled with hope, the newest batch of Midwifery students gathered for their official orientation, marking the beginning of their journey in the Midwifery Program for the Academic Year 2025–2026. It was not just the start of their college life, but the first step toward a lifelong mission of caring for mothers and newborns.
The Department of Midwifery warmly welcomed these future healthcare professionals in a special event that introduced them to the life and values of the Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception. The orientation highlighted the program’s commitment to forming skilled, compassionate, and service-driven midwives.
During the event, the dean proudly introduced the administrators and faculty members who will guide and support the students throughout their studies. She gave a heartfelt welcome, praising the students’ choice to enter the noble field of midwifery—a path that requires dedication, compassion, and a true desire to serve others.
More than just a welcome, the orientation also helped students understand the values that make FCIC unique. Rooted in Franciscan values, the school’s mission and vision were shared, reminding students that their education is not only about knowledge and skills, but also about serving others with kindness, respect, and love.
Students were also briefed on important information like school policies, academic guidelines, clinical training requirements, and their responsibilities as future midwives.
The event ended with an inspiring message: to serve with empathy, aim for excellence, and carry out their work with integrity. For these young women and men, the journey has just begun—but their calling is already clear: to care, to serve, and to make a difference in the lives of many.
