Demonstrating Responsible Stewardship and Respect for All Life as FCICians

On the morning of September 7, 2024, FCICians eagerly gathered at the Sacred Heart Convent to join the Order of Franciscan Secular in a meaningful mission—planting trees to express their love and care for creation, a legacy that will benefit future generations.
Aligning with the school’s Core Values of reverence for creation and respect for all life, members of the Young Franciscan Apostles of Charity in the College Department, along with the Young Followers of Blessed Maria Theresia, the Franciscan Youth – Baybay Local Fraternity in the High School Department, and supported by the Order of Franciscan Secular and the Sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual Adoration, gathered early on September 7, 2024. Their purpose was to embody the Franciscan spirit by planting and nurturing trees on the grounds and gardens of the Sacred Heart Convent. This activity serves to instill in students a deep sense of responsibility and respect for all forms of life as FCICians. The event coincided with the Seasons of Creation; a global initiative where environmental advocates worldwide engage in month-long activities highlighting the importance of environmental stewardship.
As true Franciscans, let this endeavor reawaken our mission to be responsible stewards of God’s creation as Saint Francis did. May it inspire us to approach our daily actions with greater environmental consciousness, leading by example in preserving and cherishing the gift of creation.
