FCIC on its Internationalization Initiatives by Dr. Sri Devi Aynaru

The Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception progressed during its second institutional meeting at the FCIC – Main AVR by making a step forward in its internationalization initiative on August 14, 2024. This effort is being led by Dr. Sri Devi Aynaru, the managing director of SMS Phoenix Global and manager of international links and partnerships, a Malaysian-based company that supports schools in achieving and realizing their vision of meeting international standards.

Dr. Sri presented to all FCIC employees the benefits of implementing an internationalization program for schools and expressed a positive outlook on collaborating with FCIC to turn the strategic plan into reality rather than leaving it just on paper. Along with Dr. Nila Garcia, based in Cebu, they shared insights on how internationalization functions. They envisioned that schools with this program would have an advantage over others, leading to increased enrollment. Dr. Sri discussed the International Work Immersion Program for Senior High School students, which provides the opportunity for students to participate in work immersion abroad, such as in Malaysia, Japan, India, Singapore, and other countries. Dr. Sri also presented an alternative in case students are unable to travel abroad through its In-Housework Immersion Program. In this program, international professors and trainers will visit the school to provide high-quality instruction to help students in STEM, HUMSS, and ABM master and apply their specializations in robotics, business enterprise, culminating activities, and more. On the other hand, students can create and present their outputs. Dr. Sri ensured that these programs were aligned with the curriculum.

The talk on Internationalization by Dr. Sri Devi Aynaru left the FCIC personnel with a positive impression regarding the realization of one of the school’s strategic pillars. With this initiative, we are moving forward together to provide quality, transformative Franciscan education to our globally competitive and socially responsive learners.
