FCIC BSIT Students Shine in 11th TOPCIT Philippines, Achieving Competency Level 2

The Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception (FCIC), College of Information Technology, proudly participated in the 11th Test of Practical Competency in Information and Communications Technology (TOPCIT) Philippines, held on November 20, 2024. This prestigious event, endorsed by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and organized by a leading Korean agency, aims to assess the critical competencies of IT specialists and software developers, ensuring they are well-prepared for the dynamic IT industry.

At FCIC, the TOPCIT examination took place at the LRC Computer Laboratory, with five (5) fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students participating in the 2.5-hour assessment. The exam provided an excellent platform for these students to benchmark their skills against industry standards and evaluate their readiness for real-world IT challenges.

The results, released on January 2, 2025, revealed outstanding performances by FCIC’s BSIT students, with several achieving Competency Level 2—a significant milestone that reflects their dedication, hard work, and commitment to academic excellence. These results are a testament to FCIC’s commitment to nurturing globally competitive IT professionals.
