FCIC Promotes Social and Spiritual Wellness Through College Faculty In-Service Program

The College of Business Management and Administration (CBMA) of the Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception (FCIC) successfully hosted the College Faculty In-Service Program: Social and Spiritual Wellness Travel on July 15, 2026, in Ormoc City and nearby destinations. The whole-day activity brought together FCIC faculty members for a meaningful journey of faith, fellowship, and renewal, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering the social and spiritual well-being of its educators.

The program commenced with an assembly at the FCIC Gate, where faculty members gathered before departing for Ormoc City. The journey marked the beginning of a day dedicated to strengthening relationships among colleagues while providing opportunities for spiritual reflection and shared experiences outside the classroom.

The day’s first major activity was the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Saint Anthony of Padua Novitiate House in Barangay Milagro, Ormoc City. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Randy Rendora, OFM, who encouraged the participants to continue living out the Franciscan values of faith, humility, and service in their vocation as educators. The Mass served as a meaningful opportunity for prayer, thanksgiving, and reflection, reminding faculty members of their shared mission in Catholic education.

Following the Mass, the participants shared lunch at Highland BBQ House Café Alfresco Dining, where they enjoyed fellowship and meaningful conversations in a relaxed atmosphere. The afternoon continued with a visit to Mico’s Park, allowing faculty members to unwind and appreciate the peaceful surroundings before proceeding to Heaven’s Peak, where they enjoyed the breathtaking panoramic views of Ormoc City and its surrounding landscapes.

Before concluding the afternoon tour, the group made a brief stop at the Mount Carmel of Milagro, where faculty members appreciated the serene surroundings and captured commemorative photographs. The activity concluded with snacks and fellowship at Café 88, providing another opportunity for faculty members to strengthen camaraderie and celebrate the spirit of unity before traveling back to Baybay City.

The College Faculty In-Service Program reflects FCIC’s continuing commitment to nurturing not only the professional growth of its educators but also their social and spiritual well-being. By creating opportunities for prayer, fellowship, and meaningful interaction, the College of Business Management and Administration reinforces the importance of building a supportive academic community grounded in Franciscan values.

As FCIC continues to uphold its mission of forming competent, compassionate, and Christ-centered educators, initiatives such as the Social and Spiritual Wellness Travel strengthen the bonds among faculty members while renewing their commitment to service. Through shared experiences of faith and fellowship, the program serves as a reminder that strong relationships and a vibrant spiritual life are essential foundations for excellence in education and the continued fulfillment of the institution’s mission.
