Administrators and coordinators of FCIC participated in the seminar-workshop “Designing Effective Interventions: Using Response to Intervention (RTI) to Improve Student Outcomes,” held on February 27, 2026, to improve learning outcomes through data-driven intervention planning. Representing the institution were Mrs. Blanchie G. Torcino, Basic Education Principal, Mrs. Cristine P. Cardoza, Guidance Counselor, and Subject Area Coordinators Mr. Rowen Jay Loquillano and Ms. Riza M. Palmero. The seminar was organized by the Global Resources for Assessment Curriculum and Evaluation (GRACE) in partnership with Phoenix Publishing House. The whole-day seminar-workshop program equipped educators with strategies to analyze PASS assessment results and plan RTI-based interventions aimed at improving student learning outcomes.
The seminar featured sessions on Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and the implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI) as key strategies for improving student learning outcomes. The first speaker, Dr. Carlo Bejarasco, discussed how collaborative teaching practices and data analysis can help educators identify learning gaps and provide appropriate support for students. The participants engaged in guided activities that demonstrated how PASS assessment data can be used to develop targeted intervention plans aligned with curriculum standards and institutional goals. The second speaker, Dr. Maribeth Alpuerto, discussed the characteristics of intervention, finding time for intervention, and the roles of students and parents in the intervention. She highlighted how RTI fits into PLCs and the intervention as a process focused on improved student learning.
This supports FCIC’s mission of delivering quality, learner-centered education by strengthening teachers’ capacity to make structured instructional decisions. By equipping educators with RTI strategies, the school ensures that struggling learners receive timely support while advanced learners continue to be challenged appropriately. Moving forward together, FCIC plans to integrate RTI practices into regular instructional planning and institutional programs. The intervention plans developed during the workshop will serve as initiatives, with follow-up monitoring and evaluation expected to guide future professional development activities and curriculum enhancements.
The seminar-workshop equipped FCIC educators to strengthen instructional practices through collaborative learning and design effective interventions using RTI to improve student learning outcomes. The event reinforced FCIC’s commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence, ensuring meaningful learning experiences for all students.
