FCIC Welcomes Parents for a Meaningful Start to Academic Year 2026-2027

Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception (FCIC) successfully conducted its Basic Education Parents’ General Orientation on June 14, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the FCIC Gymnasium. The event gathered parents and guardians of Basic Education learners for an informative and meaningful morning dedicated to strengthening the partnership between the school and families in supporting student success and holistic development.

The orientation was organized to provide parents and guardians with essential information regarding the school’s programs, services, policies, and plans for the upcoming academic year. More importantly, it aimed to foster collaboration between the school and home, recognizing that the active involvement of parents is vital in nurturing learners who are academically competent, morally upright, and guided by Franciscan values.

The program commenced with the registration of participants, followed by an opening prayer that set a spirit of gratitude and unity among the attendees. The singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the FCIC Hymn further reinforced the sense of community and shared commitment among school administrators, faculty members, and parents.

A warm welcome was delivered by Sister M. Andrea G. Tomanda, OSF, DM, School President. In her address, she emphasized the indispensable role of parents as partners in education. She highlighted that the development of learners extends beyond the classroom and requires the active participation of families in guiding children toward responsible decision-making, academic excellence, and strong moral values. Sister Andrea encouraged parents to remain engaged in their children’s educational journey and to work hand in hand with the school in creating a supportive learning environment.

One of the highlights of the orientation was the presentation of the FCIC Vision and Mission by Sister M. Annette Escasinas, OSF, MAEd. She discussed the institution’s commitment to providing quality Franciscan education that nurtures learners intellectually, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Her presentation underscored FCIC’s dedication to forming individuals who are grounded in faith, committed to service, and equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to become productive members of society.

The orientation also provided an opportunity for parents to become acquainted with the individuals who play significant roles in the education and welfare of their children. The school administration and Basic Education teachers were formally introduced, allowing parents to familiarize themselves with the educators and personnel who will guide and support their learners throughout the school year.

Mrs. Blanchie Torcino, LPT, MA, Basic Education Principal, presented important academic updates and school plans. She discussed the Three-Year School Calendar, providing parents with a clear overview of key academic activities, schedules, and milestones. She also shared updates regarding the Educational Service Contracting (ESC) program and other relevant academic concerns. Her presentation helped parents gain a better understanding of the school’s educational direction and expectations for the year ahead.

Representatives from various school offices also took part in the orientation by presenting their respective programs and services. The Campus Ministry Office discussed spiritual formation activities designed to strengthen the faith life of learners. The Guidance Office introduced programs that support students’ emotional, social, and personal development. Meanwhile, the Finance Office, Registrar’s Office, Library, and Student Affairs and Services Office provided valuable information regarding their functions, procedures, and available services. These presentations ensured that parents were informed about the resources and support systems available to their children.

To further showcase the institution’s commitment to quality education, additional school services, facilities, and programs were presented through informative video presentations. These visual materials highlighted FCIC’s efforts to provide a conducive and enriching learning environment for all students.

An Open Forum followed the presentations, allowing parents to raise questions, express concerns, and seek clarification on various school matters. School administrators and office representatives responded to the inquiries with transparency and professionalism, fostering mutual understanding and trust. This interactive session strengthened communication between the school and parents and reinforced the importance of collaboration in addressing the needs of learners.

The program concluded with closing remarks delivered by Sister M. Teresita Lopez, OSF, MA, Vice President for Administration. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the parents and guardians for their attendance, support, and commitment to their children’s education. She encouraged everyone to continue working together in forming learners who embody Franciscan values, academic excellence, and responsible citizenship.

Overall, the Basic Education Parents’ General Orientation successfully achieved its objectives of informing parents, strengthening the school–home partnership, and reaffirming the shared commitment of FCIC and families in guiding learners toward holistic growth and success. As the institution moves forward toward its 80th year and beyond, FCIC remains steadfast in its mission of providing quality Franciscan education through meaningful collaboration with parents and the wider community.
